Have you been hearing a lot about Instagram Reels?
30th June 2021, the head of Instagram Adam Mosseri, announced that Instagram was no longer a photo sharing app. In reality what this has meant is that Instagram is now promoting video first, photos second.
Instagram Reels are vertical videos that are shown on people's and business's feeds. They are short, snappy and are a maximum of 60 seconds.
Tik Tok is a social media platform that ONLY contains vertical videos. They have recently announced longer videos, up to 10minutes. It's correct that Tik Tok's user base is younger than that of Facebook, however this is changing rapidly as the older demographics start to use it.
